Giorgio Pochetti talks to us about everyday life angels
Perfectly capturing the neuroses and contradictions of the modern world are the protagonists of “Angels and Other Tales” by Giorgio Pochetti published by Robin Editions and presented at Odredek bookstore, which has always been attentive to the dissemination of small publishing houses and “young” authors. A collection of stories that are both funny and melancholy make up what is the second book by the CNR chemical researcher. Even his scientific knowledge, such as the small experiences of everyday life ( from asking a neighbor for an onion or a first date), are the pretext for the author to tell us paradoxical stories. But in fact the paradox is only initial, because after a few lines the reader recognizes in that character emotions and thoughts that he or she experiences on a daily basis. The small obsessions that we all have, the falsehood that we manifest daily is told in a cheerful way and for that reason very effective. The immediate smile that arouses when reading the stories immediately gives way to a deeper reflection on the way people deal with life. The stories are short, but they manage in just a few pages to transport you into the world of the protagonists; a very current world given the constant references to real products and situations.
A book as funny and sweet as the presentation of it at the Odredek bookstore, which interspersed the reading of stories that elicited immediate laughter from the audience with the playing of a violin by a young musician.
